Quality leadership came to a lot of us as a gradual career progression, with years of experience. Some find themselves in leadership positions as the result of sudden organization changes. 
Being a first time QA manager, unprepared and full of doubt, the unknown territory can frighten us. Add to that sometimes neither management nor we know with certainty exactly what to expect from a QA team.
   
In this talk I will take you through my personal journey of being a brand new manager in a startup world. A three step strategy to learn, implement, and scale has helped me set expectations with management for my team in the organization. I’ll share challenges we’re likely to face in first time manager roles and go back to implement this process to build a strong team.
