What Needs to Change to Be Your Best?

We all want to be our best selves, but we probably don't consider this on a day by day basis.  We don't think I'm going to work to be an average leader.  We all have skills we must master to be our best selves.

I have been studying the mindsets and actions of the best in various fields and compared what they do to what I have done or haven't done. These are the problem areas that I struggle with and you may too. Please answer the following questions:

- Do you oftentimes find yourself resisting doing the very thing you need to be doing to become the best?
- Are you easily distracted and move from task to task or get caught up in busy work?
- Have you found yourself inconsistent when doing the work on learning or mastering a new skill?
- Do you skip practices because they are boring?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, this talk can help you address these problems if you put into place the solutions shared. We must honor the struggle, as Brendon Burchard has coined, as it will not be easy.

I will share ways to recognize "the resistance" that everyone encounters and give a way to overcome it by facing it for 5 minutes. I will share three ways that you can "ultra-learn" or master a skill. Consistency is key and tracking your habits will help improve the speed in which you conquer your skill. I will discuss the importance of developing focus and incorporating deliberate practice into your daily routines. At the end of the talk, you can develop your plan to ensure you are working on being your best self.
